This was n ot my original Idea, when I go to the mountains I like to stay on the peaks. But My sleepbag lost its warmth, i found out the day before :P So because of that and also because it seemed as if the clouds were swarming the area again, i went a little more down to sleep warmer. But in the morning, this was also a nice location for a moody shot. Now I 'm ready for next trip, new sleepbag -8°C. Next trip will prolly be witouth tripod and focussed on hiking the entire Pyrenees and take some daylight shots and video memories.
Finally I have such a shot. Honourable Mention in Chromatic Awards 2020, landscapes, professionals
This mountain is older then the chain ones in the back.
let the light shine bright a moment of tranquility and no corona histeria in June, just when the first lockdown was over.
a couple people passed by when I was making this photo and also one salamander lizzard A nice break around noon
I basically made all photo's I wanted to have. Wanted a mountain pano a blue hour cloud and mountainscape a golden hour burst shot astro night photography does not interest me no more
the bivvy ridge
that spot there on the right in the shade
cote d'armor
ARMORICA is the old name of this area. This is from Asterix and Obelix and this is where Ambiorix fled to , escaping the Romans.
Mighty Mountain
France 2016 Powerfull mountain. Powerfull moment. Had to cross a little snowfield to get here. I did not know about crevasses back then, but there prolly were none. IF there are some, they should only be at those peaks, who are at 3000 meters, I was at 2500 meters here. Afterwards I read a article about someone falling in a crevasse in the pyrenees, so they are present. The small glacier you see here is probably gone by now. The glaciers of the pyrenees are nearly all completeyly gone. ice ages come and go, a natural thing
Burning Peaks
When I was here, I was very lucky to have camped here, the next day I got a nice suprise from the light and location.
The Vortex in the Valley
Seeing ice in the middle of summer, I was amazed. This glacier water was the best water I ever tasted, even nicer then in the Scot Highlands. id say the best tool for hiking, is a waterfilter because then you dont need to carry much water
oh my i cant get the tree 's nice... they were not sharp
LOS PIRINAJOS les pyrenees
seems i got some nice stuff in my archives i was dangeling on an icechunk here, i think, i also tried crossing this river, freezing my feet half , i thought it was not going to be soo cold, but i needed to get across
Milka
One of my old neighbours came up with this title/ She said it reminds her of the milka cow from leo's. I can understand. I saw a beautifull fox passing me by here on these slopes. It was a fox with not only orange but also black and white. Such a fox from 'beesten bos is boos'.
I wanted to see the milky way.
Goal achieved. Thanks to the people from Belgium that gave me a lift to the start of the hike. this way I made it to the top just in time.
Soothing Alps
Some serious climbing was involved to get here, with my big backpack it was really 'shitty'. Pulling yourself up via iron bars with sweatyhands on a mountainslope was quite scary. I already noticed a bunch of tents on a lower slope, but I wanted to reach the top. When I got to the technical part I then realised why they all stayed at the lower part :P But IF I WANT TO DO SOMETHING I USUALLY DO IT, AUTIST POWER
Waves on the Rock.
France 2016 One of the few places where you are not allowed to bivak. I have not returned to this place so far... Nice place though. I will go back here after winter 2020, when sleeping in tent or car is a bit more fun.
Contact
She prolly was thinking, wtf is that dude doing there :D
Etretat
This is one of my first photo's that I made during a mountainhike. Appart from missing some sharpness, I still like it. After this shot I had a chat with a sheep herder and then went to sleep. there are no leading lines in this photo, but sometimes I like it that, that you can just get lost in the photo.
